Describe the structure of a lichen, and name the three different types. What is the nature of this fungal association?

In shape, the lichens are of three types-
a) Crustose are crust-like closely appressed to the substratum and adheres to the substrates at all points.
b) The body of Foliose is flat, broad, lobed and leaf-like which is attached to the substratum at one or a few places.
c) Fruticose lichen is branched like a bush and attached to the substratum by means of a disc.
A lichen is a stable symbiotic association between a fungus and cyanobacteria
