In terms of cell wall structure and composition, explain the difference between Gram -ve and Gram +ve bacteria.

Gram-ve bacteria have thin cell wall more and lipids in their cell wall as compared to gram +ve bacteria so gram +ve bacteria retain the purple stain but gram -ve bacteria do not retain purple stain in the gram staining process as lipids are soluble in organic substances(destaining agents).
