The ability of organisms to respond to external stimuli is the most vital property of a living organism. All living things are able to sense and respond to stimuli around them such as light, temperature, water, gravity and chemical substances. Their ability to sense and respond is absolutely essential for their survival as well as makes them different from non-living things. Hence, it is the most vital property of living organisms.
