The condition of India before independence was worst as it was under British rule that oppressed it for centuries.It's resources were drained ,it suffered from famines that wiped much of it's population.The industries here couldn't survive under tough British competetion.Then under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi it fought against British oppression.The Indian national movement was undoubtedly one of the biggest mass movements modern Society has ever seen, It was a
movement which galvanized millions of People of all classes and ideologies into political action and brought to its knees a mighty colonial empire.
