Question

Is it better to have a low or high resistance galvanometer?

Open in App
Solution

Galvanometer:

  1. A galvanometer is a device that can detect and measure very tiny currents in an electrical circuit.
  2. The resistance of an ideal galvanometer should be zero. The galvanometer, in actuality, has a very low resistance of 100 ohms. A modest current should be able to pass through the galvanometer. When current runs through the galvanometer, it deflects.
