Shrikant from a certain place went 2km to East. He turned left and went 1km. Then he turned right and went 2km. Again he turned right and walked a distance of 9km. Then at what distance is he from his original position?

The correct option is A 10km
As per the given data, the following image will be formed.
Srikant starts from point A and stops at B.
Now, Srikant form a right angled triangle BCD right angled at C.
BC=8 km,CD=2 km,AD=2 km
By Pythagoras theorem, BD2=BC2+DC2=82+22=68.
BD=8 km
Thus, Srikant is 8+2=10 km far from starting point.
