    Sign of initial slope of compressibility factor(z) versus P curves is negative if a gas is below its Boyle's temperature and positive if it is above its Boyle's temperature. At Boyle's temperature, gas shows ideal behaviour and Z=1 and PV=nRT. When the slope is negative, the gas shows negative deviation from ideal behaviour and Z<1. The gas is more compressible.
    When the slope is positive, the gas shows positive deviation from ideal behaviour and Z>1. The gas is less compressible.
