As Given question $3 x^{2} + 5 x y - 4 y^{2} + x^{2} - 8 x y - 5 y^{2}$
Simply adding the like terms
We get $(3 x^{2} + x^{2}) + (5 x y - 8 x y) - (4 y^{2} + 5 y^{2})$
Hence the solution is $4 x^{2} - 3 x y - 9 y^{2}$
