(i) 2p³ − 3p² + 4p − 5 − 6p³ + 2p² − 8p − 2 + 6p + 8
Rearranging and collecting the like terms
= (2-6)p³ +(−3+2)p² + (4-8+6)p − 5-2+8
= -4p³ −p² +2p +1

(ii) 2x² − xy + 6x − 4y + 5xy − 4x + 6x² + 3y
Rearranging and collecting the like terms
= (2+6)x² +(−1+5) xy + (6-4)x +(− 4+3)y
= 8x² + 4xy + 2x − y

(iii) x⁴ − 6x³ + 2x − 7 + 7x³ − x + 5x² + 2 − x⁴
Rearranging and collectingthe like terms
= (1-1)x⁴ +(− 6+7)x³ + 5x² +(2-1)x-7+ 2
= 0 + x³ + 5x² +x-5
