Question

Sir/Madam, I just want to ask whether there is an equation which relates time as the square root of {(2*Mass*displacement) divided by Force} when a body starts from rest and moves in a straight line with uniform acceleration.

In other words the equation is:

t=√2mS/F

Can you please tell me if such equation is possible.

Solution

Dimensionaly such as answer is possible.
square root of {(2*Mass*displacement) divided by Force} has dimension = second, which is same as that of time.

But we can't use this equation in daily life problems.
This is used just to show that equations always needs to be dimensionally correct.

So yes this equation is possible.

Hope this helps :)
