Sita brought 20 kg of fruits. Out of these, 5 kgs 500 gm were apples and 4 kg were oranges and the rest were bananas. What was the weight of the bananas?
The correct options are B \(10.5~kg\)
Total weight of fruits = 20 kg
Weight of apples =5kg 500g
Weight of oranges =4 kg
Total weight of apples and oranges are =5kg 500g+4kg =9kg 500g
To obtain the weight of bananas, we have to subtract
the total weight of apples and oranges from the total weight of fruits.
Thus we get,
Weight of bananas =20 kg−9 kg 500 g
=10 kg 500 g
=10 kg 500 g=10.5 kg [∵500 g=0.5 kg]
