Open in App
Solution

Four psychological barriers to communication:
  1. Premature evaluation: Some people are in the habit of forming a judgement before reading and listening the whole message. This tendency is called premature evaluation.
  2. Inattention: Insufficient attention to the message likely to create misunderstanding. Inattention may arise due to laziness.
  3. Personal barriers: Personal factors like judgement, emotions and social values create a psychological distance between the sender and the receiver. Credibility gap works out here. Meaning inconsistency between what one says and what one does can create misunderstanding.
  4. Poor retention: Retention of the information is the capacity of the brain to store information as much possible. But brain is unable to store all the information coming across. So half the information is lost.
