Bishamaber was a lame and rich man. He was as old as Bholi’s father. He agreed to marry Bholi without any dowry. When Bishamber saw the pock-marks on Bholi’s face, he demanded five thousand rupees from Ramlal. Bholi’s father begged him not to demand dowry placing his turban at his feet. But Bishamber stuck to his demand. At last Ramlal agreed to give five thousand rupees to Bishamber. Due to the demand of dowry, Bholi refused to get married to him.
