Sodium is an essential constituent of our body. Calculate the percentage of sodium in the breakfast cereal which has been advertised to contain 40 mg of sodium per 50g of the cereal.

Let the quantity of meal be =x mg

A.T.Q

=> 50g of cereal contains sodium = 40mg

=> 1g of cereal contains sodium = 40/50 mg

Then x gm of meal contains sodium = 40x/50 mg


Alternate solution
40mg converts to .04g

double 50g to 100g and do the same for the 40mg (80mg)

80mg = .08g

.08g sodium per 100g
it is a type of measure in which how much contain in 100g
