1) 4(x+12)=8
= x+12=2
x = -10
2). 3y+4=5y-6
10 = 2y
y= 5
3). (3x+2y) (7x-8y)
=(3×-10 +2×5)(7×-10-8×5)
= (-30+10)(-70-40)
=(-20)(-110)
= 2200
