Given,

$2 x^{2} + x - 6 = 0$

$2 x^{2} + 4 x - 3 x - 6 = 0$

$2 x (x + 2) - 3 (x + 2) = 0$

$(x + 2) (2 x - 3) = 0$

$∴ x = - 2, \frac{3}{2}$
