(iii) 3x=18

Open in App
Solution

Put different values of x in such a way that L.H.S = R.H.S

Let us put x=2 in 3x, we have

3×2=6 which is not equal to 18

So, x=2 is not the solution of given equation.

Let us put x=4 in 3x, we have

3×4=12 which is not equal to 18

So, x=4 is not the solution of given equation.

Let us put x=6 in 3x, we have

3×6=18 which is equal to 18

So, x=6 is the solution of given equation.

Hence, By Hit and trial method x=6 is the solution of given equation.
