Question

Solve the equations:

(8) 12 + a = 4a + 6

Open in App
Solution

12 + a = 4a + 6
Subtracting 4a from both sides, we obtain:
12 + a – 4a = 4a + 6 – 4a
12 – 3a = 6
Subtracting 12 from both sides, we obtain:
12 – 3a – 12 = 6 – 12
–3a = –6
Dividing both sides by – 3, we obtain:
-3a-3=-6-3a=2
