Question

Solve the following equation and verify the solution 5x+2-3(x+2)=-2(x+1)+5(x-2)

Open in App
Solution

5x+2-3(x+2)=-2(x+1)+5(x-2) ...(1)
5x+2-3x-6=-2x-2+5x-10
2x-4=3x-12
-4+12=3x-2x
i.e. x=8
So we have value of x 8.

Substituting it on equation...(1)
LHS =5x+2-3(x+2)
=5×(8)+2-3((8)+2)
=40+2-3(10)
=42-30
=12
RHS=-2(x+1)+5(x-2)
=-2×((8)+1)+5×((8)-2)
=-2×(9)+5×6
=-18+30
=12
therefore LHS=RHS.
Hence verified.
