Question

Solve the following equations by hit and trial method:

3t=6

Open in App
Solution

Given equation: 3t=6

The side on the left of this equal sign (=) is called the left hand side (or L.H.S.) and the one on the right is called the right hand side (or R.H.S.)

so, here L.H.S =3t and R.H.S =6

Now try x=1,2,3,4...

When, x=1 ; L.H.S =3×1=3R.H.S

When, x=2 ; L.H.S =3×2=6=R.H.S

Hence, x=2 is the solution.
