Solution

The correct option is A $x = 2, y = - 3$

$2 x + y = 1$ ...........(1)

$3 x - 4 y = 18$ ........(2)

$y = 1 - 2 x$ ...........from (1)

putting value of $y$ in (1)

$\Rightarrow 3 x - 4 (1 - 2 x) = 18$

$\Rightarrow 3 x - 4 + 8 x = 18$

$\Rightarrow 11 x = 22$

$\Rightarrow x = 2$
Using value of $x$

$\Rightarrow 4 + y = 1$

$\Rightarrow y = - 3$
