$3 x + 2 y = 7$
$4 x + y = 6 \Rightarrow y = 6 - 4 x$
placing in equation (1)
$3 x + 2 (6 - 4 x) = 7$
$3 x + 12 - 8 x = 7 \Rightarrow - 5 x + 12 = 7$
$- 5 x = 7 - 12 \Rightarrow - 5 x = - 5$
x=1
$∴$ y = 6 - 4 $\times 1 = 2$
$∴$ x = 1, y = 2
