In the method of substitution, we find the value of one variable from one equation and then substituent in other. Then solve
Given:- $3 x - y = 0$ ...... $1$
$x - y + 6 = 0$ .... $2$
Using $1$ ,
$y = 3 x$ ..... $3$
Put in $2$ ,
$4 x - 3 x + 6 = 0$
$- 2 x + 6 = 0$
$2 x = 6$
$x = 3$
Put in $3$ , to find $y$
$y = 3 x$
$y = 3 \times 3 = 9$
$y = 9$
