In class VII, 15 of the students have taken karate as an activity, 14 have taken athletics, 13 have taken yoga and the remaining have taken basketball. If the number of students opting for basketball is 26, find the total number of students in class VII.

Given, 15taken karate, 14 have taken athletics, 13 have taken yoga and the remaining 26 have taken basketball

Let the total number of students in class VII is x

So, x5taken karate, x4 have taken athletics, x3 have taken yoga

According to the given condition,

x-x5+x4+x3=26x-12x+15x+20x60=26[LCMof5,4,3is60]x-47x60=2660x-47x60=2613x=26×60x=26×6012x=2×60x=120

Hence, the total number of students in the class VII is 120.
