$2x^2-5x-6=0$

$a=2,b=-5,c=-6$

$x=\frac{-b\pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}$

$=\frac{5\pm \sqrt{(-5{)}^2-4(2\left)\right(-6)}}{2\left(2\right)}$

$=\frac{5\pm \sqrt{25+48}}{4}$

$\therefore x=\frac{5\pm \sqrt{73}}{4}$
