$x = 4 - 3 y \dots (1)$

$\Rightarrow$ $2 x - y = 1$

$2 (4 - 3 y) - y = 1$ ...........from (1)

$\Rightarrow$ $8 - 6 y - y = 1$

$\Rightarrow$ $- 7 y = - 7$

$\Rightarrow$ $y = 1$

$\Rightarrow$ $x = 4 - 3$

$\Rightarrow$ $x = 1$

$\Rightarrow$ $(x, y) = (1, 1)$
