Question

Solve x and y using substitution method: √7x +√13y=0 ; √5x +√17y=0

Open in App
Solution

√7x + √13y = 0 ...(1)
√5x + √17y = 0 ...(2)

From (1),
√7x = –√13y

x = –√13y / √7

Substituting x ' s value in (2)

√5 ( –√13y / √7 ) + √17y = 0

–√65y + √119y = 0

√54 y = 0y = 0

Putting y = 0 in (1)

√7x + √13(0) = 0

√7x + 0 = 0

√7x = 0x = 0

x=0

ths the answer is x=0 and y=0
