Some of the contries in Africa which are covered with equatorial rain forests are believed to be rich in natural resources but still are poor'. Why is it so?

Despite equatorial rain forests, Africa is considered as poor because-
1. There are no health and educational facilities.
2. Even though most of the rural economy is dependent on agriculture, there is very less development in this area.
3. There are poor transport, high rates of illiteracy, and weak local institutions.
4. There is limited availability of arable land and water.
5. There are wide disparities between rich and poor.
