Principle used: A more volatile acid can be displaced from its salt by a less volatile acid.
Concentrated sulphuric acid has a high boiling point hence it is non-volatile acid. Thus it is used for preparing volatile acids like HCl and HNO3.

Here in this reaction, it displaces more volatile acid HNO3 on heating with the salt. Hence, it acts here as a non-volatile acid.
