Solution

  • During ingestion, Amoeba pushes out the pseudopodia to encircle the food and engulfs it forming a food vacuole.
  • Digestive juices are secreted into the food vacuole. They act on the food and break it down into simpler substances.
  • In absorption, the nutrients from the digested food material are absorbed into the cell’s cytoplasm, leaving behind the undigested particles.
  • Assimilation is the process of obtaining energy from the absorbed food molecules.
  • The undigested residue of the food is expelled outside by the vacuole.
