Question

lease explain points no. 3 and 4

Q. Before we end this discussion on solar energy, we would like to compare the fossil fuels and the sun as sources of energy.

(iii) The sun's energy is available in diffused form (scattered form) but fossil fuels provide energy is concentrated form.

(iv) A special device (like solar cooker or solar cell) is always needed to utilise sun's energy but this is not so in the case of fossil fuels.

Solution

Dear Student

3. Sun's energy is available in different forms means solar energy can be used in different forms, such as solar energy, photovoltaic energy to prodeuce elecrtricity, light energy for processing photolysis by plants whereas fossil fuels can be used only as fuels by burning them.

4. Special devices are used to utilise sun's energy because it is present in scatter form and need to be focused on an instrument, so that it can be converted into various forms of energy whereas this is not the case for the fossil fuels.
