Solution

Fibre:

  1. Fibre is a material formed consisting of short and continuous filaments.
  2. Natural and synthetic fibres are the two forms of fibre.
  3. Natural fibres are taken from plants and animals, whilst synthetic fibres are developed by humans.

The life cycle of silkworm

  • Silk moth → egg → silkworm → pupa
  • Silk is a fibrous material that was one of the first to be identified by man, including alpaca, flax, silk, and cotton.
  • When a female cotton moth lays eggs, her life cycle of the silk moth occurs.
  • The worms or larvae of the silky moth are hatched from the silk moth's eggs.
  • Mulberry leaves are used by silkworms to manufacture pupa.
  • The silkworm creates a net around itself to keep itself alive during the pupa stage.
  • It then swings its head back and forth, weaving a protein fibre that later becomes silk.
  • The cocoon is a covering coating that wraps the pupa and is produced by several caterpillars.
