Curd should not be kept in copper or brass vessels. What is done to protect it?

Curd is acidic in nature so it reacts with metals like copper or brass vessels and forms toxic compounds which may be unfit for human consumption,and may cause food poisoning.thus it is not advisable to keep curd and other acidic or sour food items in copper or brass vessels.
So it is advised to store curd in glass and steel vessels
