State reason why wheat is cultivated in Rabi season only?
Open in App
Solution
The rabi crops are those crops which are sown around mid-November after the monsoon rains are over and their harvesting begins in April or May.
The most important rabi crops in India are wheat, barley, mustard, sesame, and peas.
Each type of plants requires specific conditions for growth and maturation.
Therefore, rabi crops cannot be grown in other seasons as do not grow properly and both the quantity and quality of crop obtained will be poor.
