(i) Mass flow hypothesis was given by Munch to explain translocation of sugars in the plants. According to this theory, the translocation of organic solutes takes place through phloem along a gradient of turgor pressure. (ii) While dissecting the stomach tissue of an anopheline mosquito fed four days previously on a malarious patient, Ronald Ross found the malaria parasite and went on to prove the role of Anopheles mosquitoes in the transmission of malaria parasites in humans.
(iii) Marshal Hall gave the relation between the theory of reflex arc mediated by spinal cord and resuscitation method and elucidation of function of capillary vessels.
(iv) The term 'Biosystematics' was introduced in 1940 by Julian Huxley. In this system, he considered that species is the product of evolution.
