State the characteristics of insect pollinated flowers.

Dear student, Insect pollination is known as entomophily. Because insects are the carriers,the flowers has to be attractive to attract insects. Characteristics of flowers: 1) Flowers are large , conspicuous, brightly coloured. 2) Petals are large and attractive. 3)Small flowers bloom in bunches to attract insects like sunflower. 4) Different colours of flowers attract different insects.Eg-white flower attracts moths,red colour attracts butterflies. 5)Some flower are edible eg- Rosa, magnolia. 6)Some flower possess yellow sticky substance to attract insects.
