• The condition required for this reaction is that the solution should be boiled. with Alcoholic KOH

• The Chemical equation of this reaction is given below-
C2H5Bralc.KOHCH2=CH2+HBr

• Acetylene (C2H2) is prepared by treating ethylene dibromide with an alc. Potassium hydroxide solution.
