Solution

Malaria: It is a protozoan disease that is caused by the protozoan, Plasmodium sp. This is a vector-borne disease transmitted by mosquitoes (Female Anopheles).

Causes of spread of Malaria:

  1. Stagnant water is a shelter for mosquitoes to lay and breed their eggs.
  2. Wastewater deposition for long days in old and unused tiers, and flower pots, help mosquitoes breed.
  3. Unhygeine places contaminated with clogged drainage allow them to breed.

Measures to prevent the spread of Malaria:

  1. Avoid storage of stagnant water in pits, old tiers, and flower pots.
  2. Killing mosquito larvae using insecticides.
  3. Using the mosquito repellants and avoiding the entry of mosquitoes.
