State the disadvantages of labelling.

Disadvantages of labelling are:

(i) For an illiterate population,it is no use.

(ii) It increases the cost of the product,since labelling involves expenditure on the part of the manufacturer.

(iii) Labelling is effective only where goods are standardised.

(iv) It enables the customer to weigh and compare the advantages of products beore they are used.This ultimately ends in discarding of one prodcut in favour of the other.
