Question

State the equations of motion of a free falling object from the equations of constant accelerated motion (2marks)

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,

Newton's kinematics equations :
(1) v = u + at
(2) s = ut + 1/2 at2
(3) v2 = u2 + 2as

Kinematic equations for freely falling body-
Here,
Acceleration a = g
Displacement s = h,
Initial velocity u = 0

(1) First kinematics eqn -
v = gt
(2) Second kinematics eqn -
h = 1/2 gt2
(3) Third kinematics eqn -
v2 = 2gh
