It is an important part of the hindbrain.
It is referred to as the second-largest part of the brain though being a very small structure as it contains a maximum number of neurons when compared to the entire brain.
It constitutes only 10% of the brain volume.
Function:
It maintains body posture and coordination.
It is involved in muscle toning and motor movements.
It maintains the equilibrium of the body.
