Mendel have proposed three laws of inheritance by experimentation on the pea plants. There are two alleles for every gene and are known as the factors. The law of segregation states that one factor segregates from the other factor during the formation of the gamete.
According to Mendel's law of independent assortment, during the inheritance of two or more characters, the assortment of individual traits takes place independently during gamete formation.
