Solution
Cyton:
The cyton or cell body is the factory of the neuron.
It produces all the proteins as it contains ribosomes for the dendrites, axons and synaptic terminals and contains specialized organelles such as the mitochondria, Golgi apparatus, endoplasmic reticulum, secretory granules.
Location:
The specific region of the neuron containing the nucleus is known as the cell body or cyton which is the metabolic center of the neuron.
Function:
The cell body contains genetic information as it contains nucleus.
It helps to maintain the neuron's structure.
The cell body also contains the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi apparatus which allow neurons to build new axons and dendrites to make new connections with other neurons.
