Location of guard cells:

  1. Guard cells are found connected to adjacent epidermal cells.
  2. Pair of guard cells are found in stomata where they surround the stomata on the upper and lower epidermis of leaves.

Function:

  1. Guard cells regulate the opening and closing of stomata.
