State the reaction occurring at the anode during electrolysis of
Copper sulphate solution using a copper anode.

Copper metal and oxygen gas are the end products of electrolyzing copper sulphate solution using inert electrodes (carbon/graphite or platinum). we can view the electrolysis products using the simple apparatus (above left figure) and inert carbon (graphite) electrodes.

Step1: Complete the reaction.

Copper sulphate solution using a copper anode.

Cu(s)-2e-Cu2+(aq)

The copper atoms at the anode ionize to form Cu2+ ions and enter the copper sulphate solution.
