Solution

Bonds in Carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)

  • Carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) contains ca ovalent bond.
  • Covalent bonds are formed by sharing of electrons between Carbon (C) and Chlorine (Cl).

Carbon C6=2,4

Chlorine Cl17=2,8,7

So, to become stable Carbon will share electrons with four Chlorine atoms to form four Covalent bonds and resulting in the formation of Carbon tetrachloride (CCl4).
