State whether each ordered pair of numbers shown is a solution of the given equation or not:
$3 x + y = 6; (1, 3), (2, 0)$

Solution

$3 x + y = 6; (1, 3), (2, 0)$

$3 x + y = 6; a t (1, 3) = 3 \times 1 + 3 = 3 + 3 = 6$

Hence LHS $=$ RHS

$∴ (1, 3)$ is a solution of $3 x + y = 6$

$3 x + y = 6; a t (2, 0) = 3 \times 2 + 0 = 6 + 0 = 6$

Hence LHS $=$ RHS

$∴ (2, 0)$ is a solution of $3 x + y = 6$
