  • Water fit for drinking purposes is called potable water. Four characteristics of drinking water :

(i) It should be transparent.

(ii) It should have no color, no odor.

(iii) It should be free from harmful bacteria and germs.

(iv) It should contain the same salts and minerals needed by the body CO2, to add to taste.

  • While Distilled water is a pure type of water that does not contain any salts in it.

Hence, the given statement is False.
