Solution

  • When the water is contaminated with faeces or sewage and is used by the people without boiling it, then the pathogens will enter into the healthy person, and the disease occurring is known as waterborne disease. Use of boiled water is one of the preventive measures of waterborne disease. So statement 1 is false.
  • When an infected individual coughs or sneezes without covering his nose/ mouth in the air, droplets coming out of nose/ mouth which contain pathogens will infect the healthy person. So here disease is transmitted through air droplets so it is known as airborne disease So statement 2 is true.
