All human beings have common ancestry. Humans and chimpanzees have a common ancestor and have evolved on planet earth. That common ancestor is likely to have been neither human or chimpanzee. Thus, humans did not come from chimpanzees. In other words, chimpanzees and humans took different routes in their individual evolutionary paths as indicated in the diagram.
